Typeface Design

Deuce is a translational serif typeface developed during the Type@Cooper Extended Program, Class of 2026. It was inspired by the soft, gentle movement of women learning to play tennis.

The design features moderate stroke contrast, softly bracketed serifs, chisel-cut terminals, and incised details. Calligraphic curves introduce a sense of movement and rhythm, while sharper forms bring structure, precision, and control.

Created as the primary typeface for a fictional women’s tennis club, Deuce is intended for use across the brand’s digital and print communications.
